New Tomato Scents: 'Oohlalicious' and 'Vavalicious' on Smelling Delicious

A new addition comes to Tomato's collection of clothes, shoes, bags, and accessories - perfumes! Tomato introduces its own pair of eau de toilette scents meant to capture the cosmopolitan sophistication of its patrons - the Oohlalicious and Vavalicious.

Oohlalicious” and “Vavalicious”, are specially blended to complement Tomato's fashion wear and accessories. Just from the name alone, you would already fall for them. Though both nose-stealing, the two cater to opposite extremes.

Subtly Yummy Oohlalicious

More subtle among the two, Oohlalicious pronounce towards the foxy type of sexiness. It leaves a light trail of scent, not to strong but just right for everyday use. It is best paired with your casual smile tucking a lock of hair behind your ear. :)

Oohlalicious' fresh and fruity notes blends well with the conservative Filipina with hints of  jasmine, rose and light musk notes. It is trailed by sweet and woodsy endnotes.

I think the transparent round flacon container could have been better but the silver heart charms adornment engraved with the statement “Smell delicious. Be Delicious,” made up for the loss.
Sandra Seifert who was at the launch in Tomato's Trinoma branch last May 20 (and joined by Anton Del Rosario of Philippine Azkals), shares that “Oohlalicious is perfect for Tomato Women who are young, fun, and sexy. It gives a boost of positivity so you’d feel good and confident about yourself.”
Modern & Spicy Vavalicious

Modern, chic and spicy describes Vavalicious' scent. More elegant and sophisticated to the sense of smell, it has a hint of spiciness. It ultimately fits a woman of class and charm with a strong red lipstick to match.

Vavalicious exudes warm woodsy notes with a subtle dairy feel. It's encased in a teasing heart shaped bottle with a sexy angled cap with a pari of gold heart charm ornament.

Vavalicious is something that could ‘spice up’ your life. Apply it on your wrist or neck is like adding a little fun in you,Sandra adds.

Oohlalicious and Vavalicious are available in all Tomato branches and kiosks nationwide at an affordable  P300 per bottle. Tomato also featured Oohlalicious and Vavalicious at the recently concluded Bloggers United event.

Reaction from a Man

If my girlfriend would wear one, I'd love the laid-back Oohlalicious scent on her. :)
Anton Del Rosario of Philippine Azkals also joined Sandra Seifert in the Tomato Launch

Visit a Tomato store near you and get a free a cute accessory for your cell phone upon purchase. Try on the scrumptious new eau de toilette and exude pure deliciousness to captivate your men. :P

First Try on Hair Removal with SkinStation

I'm used to different types of facial treatments, from regular ones to diamond peel; and even those with acne treatments. But when SkinStaion's invitation to try their Soprano Diode treatment hair removal service came into my inbox, it hair-tickled my curiosity. :)

I'm not a 'hairy' person myself with only a soft beard and dash of goatee so hair removal treatments not that relevant to me. However, it's a different story for the women in the Philippines who value a hairless, soft, and smooth skin in almost all parts of their body.

There are two major things that I got from this recent experience:

1) I Learned A Lot about Hair Removal

Right after lunch, a brief talk about the nature of body hair was discussed by the poeple from SkinStation and these are just some of what I learned about the nature of hair:
  • Hair follicles are sensitive to heat
  • The basic theory of hair removal is heating up the hair bulb and eventually killing it.
  • Laser hair removal works better on darker hair shades (black vs blondes)
  • Hair removal treatments are most effective only for hairs in the anagen phase which is regularly 10-15% only of our total hair
The fourth statement explains why multiple sessions are needed in hair removal procedures. Customers should come back next when new set of hair are in anagen phase which are usually replenished 4 to 8 weeks depending on the body part.

2) I Tried Hair Removal for the First Time

I honestly didn't have any plans of getting any of my hair from any part of my body removed. I am at peace with all my hair in my body, you might say. :) I intend to continue maintaining some mustache and a goatee as part of my facial landscape.

But for the sake of trying and experiencing it myself, I remembered that in shaving / forming my goatee, I always remove the hair on the lower part of my chin running towards the neck. So I thought why not get rid of that part which I always remove; and hence the photos below.
Cosmo Manila undergoing a minor surgery Soprano Diode Laser hair removal treatment
So How is this Different from Other Hair Removal Treatments?
So here's the good news. From my limited knowledge and basic understanding on hair sciences, SkinStation's specific laser technology used in my treatment is called the Soprano Accord from Alma Lasers. It's basically the first and only diode laser hair removal in the country today as they claim.

But Laser Hair Reomval is Not New?

That's right, but this one uses diode which emits 'smaller' but 'more' shots of laser which virtually makes it painless compared to other hair removal treatments. SkinStation call it "cumulative" energy or the "SHR theory" which penetrates deeper with 'low peak' energy and less epidermal trauma without the burn, pain, anesthesia, nor use of ice.

And so, based on my own experience, I felt no pain at all. And instead of heat, I felt cold. This was partially due to the cool gel applied on the skin target area during the procedure which lasted 90 seconds. Length of exposure is dependent of skin area.
SkinStation
So if you are interested, SkinStation said that the Soprano Diode Laser hair removal system is intended for use for all skin types and is FDA approved. It can be applied to different parts of the body but they discourage it for the eyebrow and the hair scalp. Yes, you can have your Brazilian or Boyzilian treatments. :P

New GMA-7 Shows Set to Start This May!

In a recent studio tour and meeting with GMA-7 top honchos, the executives revealed an exhilarating line-up of new TV shows for May 2011.

GMA-7 Studio Tour

I'm actually a little familiar with the GMA Network Center's studios having previously guested in QTV's (now NEWS TV) The Sweet Life and The Cooking Shows: Secrets of The Masters. But more than that, together with other bloggers, we got to see the bigger and newer studios like the ones where 'News TV Live' is being broadcast.
Master Showman 'Walang Tulugan' Studio
I like best the studio where '24 Oras' news is shown because it looks big and the light effects are good.

On the other hand, the most high-tech studio is the one being shared by 'Imbestigador' with some other shows because of the automated lighting system on the ceiling.
'Imbestigador' Studio'
After that and a light merienda, GMA-7 unveiled the upcoming top-notch programs all set to launch this month of May with the first one starting tomorrow, May 2.

GMA-7 New Shows

Leading the GMA-7 new shows is the 'Secret Garden' which replaces the top-rating Koreanovela " The Baker King." The Secret Garden features the tandem of Hwang Jini lead star, Ha Ji-won, and leading man Hyun Bin. This comedy -Koreanovela which involved a magical switching of bodies comes right after "I Heart You Pare" of GMA Telebabad.

Up next is a Kapuso Network's pioneering family drama called 'Munting Heredera' led by veteran actress Gloria Romero. This is the first time Gloria Romero will be seen in a GMA Telebabad soap opera. 'Munting Heredera' also features new discoveries Mona Loise Rey, Kyle Daniel Ocampo, and Barbara Miguel. Other actors joining the cast are Roderick Paulate, Mark Anthony Fernandez, Camille Prats, and Katrina Halili, among others. It starts May 9.

For the Dramarama sa Hapon, GMA brings back to life an 80's classics - Blusang Itim. Reprising Snooky Serna's role is Kylie Padilla who was chosen after auditioning for the role. Joining Kaylie in a story about a young woman struggling due to her physical appearance are Carl Guevarra, Frank Magalona, Winwyn Marquez, Rita Avila, Jackielou Blanco, and more. Blusang Itim shows on May 16.

The other shows in the line-up include the following:
  • "Andres de Saya" starring Cesar Montano and Iza Calzado (May 28)
  • "Sisid" starring Jackie Rice, Dominic Roco, and JC Tiuseco (May 30)
  • "Playful Kiss" starring Jung So Min (late May)
  • "My Chubby World" kiddie show (May 14 and every Saturday)
  • "Sabadabadog" Educational Children Show with Tonipet Gaba (late May)
Check out this video as GMA-7 Unveils the New Programs this May 2011

GMA News and Public Affairs Features

A three-fold special feature by the GMA News and Public Affairs will also to be shown today - May 1 - starting with the beatification ceremonies "Blessed: John Paul II" at 4pm, and followed by "John Paul The Great: A Pope Who Made History" at 8:45pm.

The final one is a late night SNBO feature: "Ground Zero: Sa Gitna ng Nagbabagong Mundo." It is an environmental documentary on earthquakes led by Vicky Morales and GMA's team of senior reporters from Luzon to Mindanao focusing on cities and provinces exposed to the hazards of such calamities.
Views from the top floor of the GMA Network Center annex building

And of course, the fight which not only the Philippines, but the world awaits - the Pacquiao-Mosley face-off. GMA-7 airs the exclusive coverage and behind-the-scene footages of the Manny Pacquiao - Shane Mosley fight on May 8.

All these amidst its recent achievement of garnering the highest ratings in the Royal Wedding coverage with Jessica Soho, Vicky Morales, and Connie Sison.

At the end of the tour, we paid Wilma Galvante's office a visit. She (left) is GMA Network's senior vice president for entertainment. The group had a small chat ad some photo-op before we left. (Cosmo Manila on right)
Amaya

But among all these new shows, I think it is Amaya which will have the biggest impact of them all.

Starring GMA-7's leading primetime star Marian Rivera, "Amaya" promises to be GMA's biggest television production in history with its visual effects and grand production design.
The 'Darna' costume. Marian Rivera started her stellar career with the fantaserye 'Darna.'
On May 30, the first-ever epic teleserye will be introduced in Philippine primetime television starring a woman with great powers in a world ruled by men. Other actors and actresses in the series are Glaiza de Castro, Mikael Daez, Sid Lucero, Rochellle Pangilinan, and more.

Indeed, the GMA Kapuso Network will dominate Philippine television this May 2011 with these quality new shows led by Marian Rivera in Amaya.
