Coors Light 3-Point Play Sent Winners to NBA Finals

Did you enjoy the recent NBA Finals? More so did Ma. Luisa Uyehara, right from the court side.
Just by purchasing a bucket of Coors Light, Luisa won the 'Coors Light 3-Point Play to the NBA' promotions.

Last May 28, 2010, the official awarding of the prize to the grand winner was held at the National Sports Grill in Greenbelt.

Interestingly, it only took Luisa one order of bucket from a restaurant in UP Technohub,  QC, and won an all-expenses-paid trip to the USA for two.

Luisa, together with her husband, watched Boston Celtics and LA Lakers battle it out last June 9-11, 2010. Representatives from Coors Light also accompanied them to make sure they are well taken care of.
(R-L) Husband and Wife Ma. Luisa Uyehara, Ms. Leigh Magningas (Coors Light Brand Manager), and Mr. Jim Wong (Molson Coors Business Developmental Director for Asia-Pacific)

Being the official beer partner of the NBA, Coors Light knew how close the sport of basketball is to the Filipinos, hence the campaign. Moreover, the online promo of the NBA 3-Point Play will continue giving out the 3,600 NBA collectibles such as bags, t-shirts, and jackets through their Facebook account. Click here..

And for the 2011 season, the number of winners who will win trips to the USA will be doubled. A Coors Light bucket or 6-pack is equivalent to one coupon which givess the drinkers 3 separate chances of winning NBA prizes. Check more details from their website here.

Entitled "Marketing in Hyperspeed," the Philippine Marketing Association is organizing the 41st National Marketing Conference 2010.
It will be held this coming June 24 and 25 (Thursday and Friday) at Sofitel Philippine Plaza in Pasay City, Philippines.

The focus of the conference is 'marketing as growth accelerator'. We have known marketing through the years as a tool and the process by which companies build quality customer relationships and interests that lead to sales and efficient communication.

I hope to attend this conference as part of my work start to cover marketing as well. And with the continuing dynamics of the marketing landscape, conferences such as the 41st National Marketing Conference comes most relevant. The 2-day conference covers topics such as niche domination, green marketing, the Generation Y market, and driving growth through marketing, among others.

The first session is to be conducted by no less than keynote speaker Philippine president-elect himself - Benigno Aquino III. He will discuss global issues with regards to marketing that affect everyone from west to east including Southeast Asia.
Other guest speakers include President of the Philippine Social Research Center (PSRC) RJ Esteban, Certified International Facilitator/Trainor from Singapore Training Institute Mr. Ricardo de Vera (MBA, CSP), and GMA Marketing & Productions, Inc. President & CEO Liezel Maralag.

Managing Director), respectively.

Search Profile Index is a proud sponsor of this conference. I hope to see you at the 41st National Marketing Conference 2010 this June 24.

"Beating The Odds" by Velasco & Saludo

A new book entitled "Beating The Odds" has come out of the shelf of mainstream local bookstores of the Philippines.

Co-authored by Renato Velasco and Ricardo Saludo, the book talks about the outgoing president's policymaking and governance through her 9 years of administration.

With the upcoming inauguration of the new president-elect Benigno Aquino III in less than two weeks and the stepping down of Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, "Beating The Odds" comes in a most delicate time.

It is public knowledge that the outgoing administration has been through a lot of controversies and alleged corruption cases. Reading through the synopsis of this book, it seems that the authors tried to take on a different perspective of the matters at hand by focusing on how the administration handled politics and issues while getting things done.
"...the authors have been able to consolidate a portrait of leadership around six issues that stalked the Philippines at the turn of the century—terrorism, the Mindanao peace process, the drug threat, the global emergence of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), an attempted coup d’etat against the government and a hounding budget deficit." - Synopsis "Beating The Odds"
It would be interesting to note how Velasco and Saludo was able to show the other side of the Arroyo administration in contrast to popular perception by focusing on institutional governance.
The main topics covered by the book include terror, peaceillegal drugs, SARS, the Oakwood Mutiny, and the country's budget deficit.

Needless to say, this book will be condemned by those who despised the Arroyo administration. On the other hand,  the validity of the merits given by Velasco and Saludo might be worth checking out nonetheless; even just to say that you have seen the other side of the coin as well.

How To Vote for Ivan Dorschner of PBB Teen Edition 3

Whenever I'm home within the PBB Teens time slot, I make sure to tune in to Pinoy Big Brother.

Watching the reality show give viewers the chance to see how real people react to real life stimulus within a given environment. And in the current season, it's about teens, hence the 'Teen Edition.'

One of the Pinoy housemates, Ivan Dorschner (Ivan Dorsner), was never one of my bets from the beginning. But as of late, with only 3 Pinoy housemates remaining, he seemed to be one of those deserving to win.

A specific scene was that from a few days ago when due to some developments, the housemates were made to choose either to save Jenny or automatically evict a less deserving 'teenternational' (international) housemate. Ivan and Devon already choose Bret for his demerits but Fretzie doesn't want to complete a unanimous vote within the limited time to decide. Although Ivan really wanted to save Jenny, he did not press the save button because it was not a unified vote among the three Pinoy Housemates.

I guess that says a lot of how Ivan respects a group decision albeit at the expense of Jenny.

Although a half Filipino-half Irish, Ivan Dorshner is one of my top two votes for this season's PBB Teen Edition.

Freshman: On Men's Intimate Hygiene

Although the local airwaves are filled with feminine wash commercials, it never occurred in my mind that there would be a corresponding male version - a masculine wash.
Eventually, now, to metrosexuals and cosmopolitan dwellers, there is. Freshman, the newest local intimate hygiene product for men comes to the picture.

Freshman banks on the idea that men live a very active lifestyle including sports activities and a very hectic career life. And just like women and even more, they sweat a lot.

The usual remedy to refresh is a cool shower and basic soap to clean the body. Freshman believes that soaps alone may not do the job for the more delicate and intimate parts of a man's body. For this, they recommend having an intimate hygiene foam wash which can also help to feel "clean" and "fresh".

"They feel younger and more energetic when they are cool" is the message Freshman wanted to impart in a recent event / party at A.Venue in Makati.

It's also claimed that having the "cool" feeling on men's private parts, has a scientific benefit.

"According to research and doctors, having that 20% cooling feeling in men's intimate areas can actually help them preserve the life span of their sperm and increase the number of counts required. Sperms are destroyed and definitely become low in counts when the intimate parts are much warmer than the body temperature."

Now that's something! Although I would like to believe that the temperature difference with or without the masculine foam wash would be not much significant.

The Freshman bottle (yes, they gave away samples in the event), indicates that the product's active ingredient is Tea Tree Oil which is known to moisturize the skin. It has been neutrally balanced at ph7 making it gentle on the skin and protects from germs that can cause unwanted odor and even itchiness.

Furthermore, the Freshman Masculine wash has been dermatologically tested for proper intimate hygiene. It is now available in retail stores at P79 SRP per bottle. It's also available in two variants: Original and Freeze.

You have reached reading this article at this point and I know the pertinent question you want to ask from the back of your mind - "Have I tried it?" The answer is 'no,' I have not, but will do so soon.:) Perhaps you'd like to subscribe to the blog and get updated with the Freshman answer in the near future. :)

Electrolux Introduces Small Appliances Line in Philippine Market

From refrigerators, dishwashers, washing machines, big vacuum cleaners and cookers, Electrolux recently launched its new line of small appliances in the local market.

Still focused on the philosophy “Thinking of You,” Electrolux felt that the Filipino market is now ready for its innovative small appliances.

Leading the set is the Electrolux Confidence Steam Irons which boasts of unique safety features after Electrolux discovered in a study that safety is Asian consumers' number one concern in ironing.

Aside from the 3 way auto shut-off function, it has a 360º cable that prevents the steam-iron from falling over while in use. This Electrolux appliance also has the patented safety stand with a rubber napped heel surface that prevents it from slipping when on an upright position.

The Neo Collection breakfast home appliances set on the other hand includes a coffee maker that can hold as much as 10 cups of coffee, with a non-stick warming plate and a keep warm function. It also comes with a permanent filter and an anti-drip system.

For the toast lovers, the Electrolux ETS 2000 Pop-up toaster has a 7 setting electric browning control.
For the staple rice, the Electrolux ERC2181 rice cooker can cook, warm, steam and porridge while the ERC2180 model has a 1.8 liter capacity with two functions – cook rice and keep warm up to 72 hours. Both models have an inner pot with a non-stick coating, and also come with a steam rack and ladle.

Their vacuum cleaners also leveled-up as the Z4009 75 Tornado stands by its name using cyclonic technology where suction is provided by the internal spinning of an air-stream created by the wide drum and sealed container. With its powerful performance, dust will not clog the filter.

Another option is the Flexio II, the new wet and dry vacuum cleaner from Electrolux. It features a higher input power with a stronger suction for excellent pick-up of all kinds of dirt, plus a tank that has a 30 liter capacity to clean up liquids.
...Electrolux Philippines has been focused on providing consumers with a full range of big appliances, from food preparation to laundry, but now we are poised to become the only white goods brand in the market that not only offers these big appliances but small domestic appliances as well,” said Santa Nikolaus, General Manager of Floor Care and Small Domestic Appliances of Electrolux East-Asia, during the recent product launch.

Together with other media friends, we also enjoyed the Trivia Day games where we were enlightened about some facts about history and appliances. :)

With presence in more than 150 countries, Electrolux re-entered the Philippine market in 2002 and are currently sold under brands Electrolux, White-Westinghouse and Frigidaire. Visit www.electrolux.com for more information.
