Eid’l Fit’r Ramadan on September 9 Holiday Still Unverified

Triggered by the August 23 Philippine holiday revision, the work force are now led to think that previously declared holiday Eid’l Fit’r Ramadan on September 9 (holiday) might not push through.
The public are once again guessing of the upcoming Eid’l Fit’r Ramadan holiday on September 9 with the absence of an official government declaration or announcement from the new administration.

With less than 2 weeks to go, we hope that Pnoy's administration could act swiftly in declaring or "undeclaring" the Eid’l Fit’r Ramadan September 9 holiday so that the public can adjust accordingly.

Perhaps they are still getting advice from the proper channels. We hope to know soon if Eid’l Fit’r Ramadan September 9 holiday will persist or not.

If fortunate enough, this would be my first Grand Prix Season Singapore experience!

Getting Loud and Lucky in Timog QC

Bar Hop Day  3 w/ Jay
Being a long time party-place area, Timog in Quezon City has long been known for its ultimate clubbing experience. All types of bar and clubs, from light to intense, line the streets of Timog and adjacent Tomas Morato.

You will never run out of place to go to in Timog, even without a plan. On the contrary, I have already identified my target bars for last Saturday night - Dolce Superclub, White Avenue Bar and Eivissa Superclub.

Same with the past two night, I am accompanied by a different friend - Jay. i was supposed to go with another friend but he backed out at the last minute. It was good that Jay lived nearby and was game even if I invited him just a few hours before.

Dolce
Dolce Superclub
Bar number 1 was Dolce. It is conveniently located within the circumference of the Scout Monument circle in Timog. When we got into the bar, we were immediately informed that there was an ongoing open party by an organization of students from University of the Philippines Diliman.

Something tells me that tonight's gonna be a good night (hmmm, sounds familiar). :)
UP Cursor Party

Local Comedian Franzen
To my surprise it was the anniversary party of UP Cursor or the UP Association of Computer Science Majors - the same organization I was part of about ten years ago back in my UP days as a student. It was like being zoomed back 10 years. lol

What a coincidence! It was good that there were also some alumni like Jonas, Paolo and Lee from the lower batches with whom I was able to catch up with.

I also met local reality show Pinoy Big Brother celebrity Franzen inside the club.
Dolce Rev&Rave Cocktail
We ordered Red Fuel (P100++) , Gyoza (Dumplings 5pcs-P125), Tuna Sisig (P270), Beef Teppan (Sizzling Beef P300), and an orange juice (P70).

I can say that Dolce's food and drink prizes are relatively cheaper than the other clubs we've been to. They also do not charge service fee.

Gyoza Barchow
With regards to the Singapore Grand Prix Rev&Rave promo, Dolce only had the Red Fuel cocktail included in the promo and no barchow so we only got one chance in the instant prize and one raffle stub.
Getting the Instant Prize
The good night strike again when we won a Grand Prix Shirt in Rev&Rave's  pick-a-prize promo. After getting stuck with the "thank you" stubs in the two previous night, the curse was broken.

The shirt really looks cool.  I will wear it to Singapore in case I win a trip and tickets to the Grand Prix.

Will the winning streak continue? Read on.

We were on our way out of the bar when it started to rain. So we decided to stay some more and let the rain pass before heading on to White Avenue.
White Avenue Bar

White Avenue

If there was something unique with White Avenue, it's their UV light entry stamp. It's invisible under regular light but can be checked by the bouncer in charge under UV light.

In the same manner we ordered the F1 cocktail and Squid Balls Barchow which are part of the Rev&Rave promo.

Here is a video on how the F1 cocktail was  prepared:

F1 Rev&Rave Cocktail (red on the side)
Rev&Rave Squid Balls Barchoe

We didn't win in the pick-a-prize but we had two additional raffle stubs.
White Avenue Clubbing

White Avenue is a lot smaller and the interiors were cramped. After a short while, we decided to move on to Evissa.

Evissa

Long Lines outside Eivissa
The final superclub in our bar hopping came with more surprises. It's late in the night and the line outside the bar was very long! This led me to ask Jay what could be inside the bar that would make these people line up long for a club?

When we got in, the club is further divided into at least three different bars/rooms/sections. Our entrance tickets only allowed us to one, but it was sufficient for us to experience a different level of Manila clubbing.
Eivissa Superclub is bigger than Dolce, and much more than White Space; and the crowd was awesome. Club music was also raised a notch higher and the cocktails - extreme.

Rev&Rave Firecracker (P100++)
I had to leave the Firecracker (P100++) cocktail to Jay which he himself had to surrender to. It's also part of the Singapore Grand Prix promo together with the Rev & Rave barchows Chili Fingers (P260) and Fish & Fries (P320) which we also ordered.

Eivissa Superclub

Eivissa Club
Same as with the other clubs, we get to pick an instant prize again. With three promo items, we got to pick three times.
Prizes w/ Chili Fingers and Fish & Fries

I had Jay pick two while I pick one. The good night struck again as we won in all three stubs! We got 2 Grand Prix caps and a Singapore Grand Prix luggage tag.

It was a total complement to the shirt I got earlier in Dolce.
Eivissa Superclub Entrance

Here is a video of clubbing in Eivissa Superclub:

The night fell deeper but the music just keeps getting better as the crowd gets wilder. By 3am, I had to go ahead of Jay as I still need to attend a family affair later in the morning.

Eivissa above CenterStage @ Timog

Eivissa is highly recommendable for the ultimate partyphile who deserves real clubbing grounds. It is located on the fourth floor above Centerstage along the Scout Monument in Timog, Q.C. Let's Get Loud!

Getting Loud in Makati and A Sidetrip to the SideBar

Friday Clubbers
In the day-2 of our bar hopping adventure, I invited a different set of friends. This time, there were four of us, and we've decided to raid the bars of Makati City.

w/ Vince & Hannah at Toyz Makati
A few days ago, I have already been to Toyz with some bloggers and we had a late afternoon gathering and some drinks.

Toyz Makati

So Jeff, Mel, Mark, and I decided to meet at a local convenience store below Il Ponticello in Makati at about 10pm.

Il Ponticello Entrance
It's located at the second floor of Antel 2000 building near Valero St. It's my first time here and it seems that half of the bar was occupied by a group celebrating an event.

With the same agenda for the previous and following bars, we are to try out the Singapore Grand Prix promo. Similar to yesterday, the big Singapore Grand Prix banner greeted us at the entrance. And the natural reaction of a blogger is - guess what - take photos. :)

Bacci
It was party music night and the DJ mix included hits from Back Street Boys. Surprisingly, the people were able to groove and get loud with the music being children of the 90's :) Anyhow, it was cozy and spacious on our side of the bar while the party goers jump around across the other side of the bar.

Observably, the crowd here is composed of the office workers from around the area. They were still in their yuppie-long-sleeved attire while jamming with the beats.
Gambas Rev & Rave Barchow

Clubbing @ Il Ponticello
Il Ponticello
We also ordered Pizza
We ordered Bacci cocktail drink (P180) and Gambas (Shrimp) (P400+). Both are part of the Rev&Rave drinks and barchow.
Instant Prize? No? :(
Raffle Stub

Come raffle-drawing time, it seems that we were just as unlucky as yesterday. We got another series of "Thank You" pick-a-prize stubs. Nonetheless, we still get a chance on the grand raffle and get a chance to win a trip to Singapore to attend the 2010 Grand Prix Season Singapore and other prizes.
Dropping in the Drop Box. I hope to win!

Clubbing in Il Ponticello Video:

Up next is Fiamma. This is what I love about makati in the evening, street parking is free. So from Il Ponticello along Valero, we went to Jupiter St. where Fiamma is.
Fiamma

Unfortunately, Fiamma was expectedly on the roll for a friday night. It was flowing with people upto the side streets.

SideBar

Having been to three bars in Makati, we decided to end the night in Sidebar in Pasig City on our way home.

I have known Sidebar since 2005 when I use to work at the commercial buidling JMT Towers beside it.
SideBar

I was surprised  as they have restructured the place and it's obviously well-lit compared to the others we've been to. It's more of a sit-down bar actually, than the dance clubs yesterday and Il Ponticello.
New Sidebar
Sidebar DJ on the music beat

It also seems that the crowd of Sidebar is more mature. Perhaps since the market in the commercial area is also composed of professionals and managers.

We were more on our own here since the Singapore Grand Prix guide assigned to each club reportedly went home already. So we asked the waiters which drinks and barchow was part of the Singapore Grand Prix promo and ordered them.
Ferrari Rev& Rave Cocktail
The Ferrari cocktail (P120) was literaly fiery with fire on top of the shotglass. :) One has to blow it off and drink straight. My friend Jeff said it has hints of a coffee aftertaste. :)
Brig Pizza

We just had the drink as they can't identify which barchow is dessignated, if any. we just ordered Brig Pizza (P440). It came out with a unique shape. :)
Sidebar Clubbers

We also didn't get the chance to pick an instant prize nor fill up the coupons like in the other bars/clubs; but it's ok.
