Loud & Outspoken by Fergie & AVON

Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas has always been an icon of this generation's music exuding a loud and outspoken attitude. More so now with Avon and "Outspoken by Fergie."

This further solidifies her stature in a recent collaboration with global brand Avon. As a fragrance designer where she fromulated her own perfume called "Outspoken by Fergie."

I first knew Fergie as a member of the Black Eyed Peas, and now also as a solo artist. Also known as Stacy Ann Ferguson, Fergie livea a glamorous life as an American singer-songwriter, rapper, fashion designer and film star. She enjoys diamond facials, vegetable juice, lingerie, workouts and Maldives as all good medicine.
Outspoken by Fergie

More specifically of Outspoken, this is her first fragrance project with Avon, the company for women.
Fragrance makes me feel sexy and alluring. I wanted to create a fragrance that people will respond to and enjoy. Outspoken is a fresh, modern scent that will make the women who wear it feel confident and fearless. The scent is bold with a raw, sexy edge that will shock you,” shares the outspoken Fergie.
True to her character mixture of variety, Outspoken can be described with unexpected contrasts. Think chiffon and leather, rocker chic and belle, the underlying toughness in soft femininity.

"...this has been an incredible opportunity to work with the experts at Avon,” adds Fergie.

Outspoken Bottle and Crystal Cap
She said she learned so much about how fragrance, concept, team, product all come together. “It has allowed me to tap into my creative side in an entirely different way. One thing that remains the same is that I want the fragrance, like my music, to have a story and have real meaning and personality. We wanted to be 100% certain that we had a product we really liked...It was really satisfying to do something that was so completely different from what I normally do as a performer.  I have shared my music with the world and am excited to now be able to share a different part of who I am through my fragrance, Outspoken.

Packaging

It gets sleekier in the packaging.

I found inspiration for the cap design while getting dressed for my wedding to Josh.  There was a crystal decanter in the bridal suite and I knew I wanted the cap to look like that. I was so excited about the design that I had my team send me sketches while I was on my honeymoon! Outspoken is sort of a ‘Rock n Roll Boudoir’ which is very similar to my personal closet at home.” And the finished product is a crystal decanter cap and a beautiful black genie-shape base.
It Gets Personal with Fergie

Fergie confesses that her grandmother was an Avon lady as well. "I can remember her having little parties with her friends and showing them all the beautiful makeup pieces. When I was younger, I even asked my grandmother to leave me her makeup in her will!  My mom would also help my grandma wrap up the gifts herself.

Outspoken by Fergie is now available in the Philippines for P999. You can purchase one through any Avon Representatives nationwide which started last December 1, 2010. Call the Avon Customer Hotline at 8642900 or visit www.avon.com.ph and get in touch with an Avon Lady.

Niccolo Cosme Joins DLSU Green Light Project

Niccolo Cosme joins De La Salle's GreenLight Project. It is a collaboration project of 10 Lasallian photographers for the benefit of the One La Salle Scholarship Fund.
A DLSU-D AB Communication Arts batch 2001 graduate, Niccolo Cosme is now a famous conceptual and fashion photographer. He is the creative director of Lighthouse Studio and has several successful campaigns and highly distinctive celebrity portraits.

One of those campaigns include the 2007 Project Headshot Clinic which utilized digitized headshots for online profile photos. The main idea was for a viral online awareness and advertising campaign for a brand concept.

One of his most recent project was where I was privileged to work with Niccolo again. It's the Project Headshot Clinic - ACT Advocacy Campaign for World AIDS Day 2010. I still use the Niccolo's shot as my profile photo in Facebook. :)

Nat Geo & Regatta Says Live Curious & "Keep Asking"

National Geographic Channel (NGC) and Regatta recently partnered to promote NGC’s “Live Curious” campaign. It is a global program promoting the spirit of curiosity and adventure.

The Live Curious campaign is about exploring and questioning. It shares Nat Geo’s and Regatta’s curious spirit. Believing “Everything deserves a ‘Why,” Regatta and NGC intends to inspire people to question what they know, how they view the world, and what drives them forward.
"Nat Geo, one of the largest non-profit scientific and educational institutions in the world, has been inspiring people to care about the planet since 1888 with pioneering studies and explorations in various fields of learning, such as geography, archaeology, and natural science."
National Geographic Channel & Regatta's Live Curious Campaign

Aside from being showcased in Regatta’s show windows and in-store displays, National Geographic also chose Filipino personalities to become NGC’s local ambassadors for this “Live Curious” campaign/global program. Project Headshot Clinic Goes Online on World's AIDS Day

December 1 is World AIDS Day. And in line with its advocacy of awareness, Project Headshot Clinic, spearheaded by Niccolo Cosme, goes online.

Project Headshot Clinic (HSC) is a new concept that merges Profile photos online and Advertising. As its Facebook info page states, it's mission is to convey through "unique digitized headshots, online profile photos can be potential online billboards."

So how is it done?
"Its major components are: registration, mass shooting, and mass uploading on social network web sites (as profile photo), which make HSC an effective and creative marketing tool. HSC creates curiosity and impact to those who are not yet aware or part of it."
With enough support, the strategy could become viral online.by making the public "become a part of it."

Currently, the project has almost 300 heasdshots and counting. You may also want to participate in the HIV prevention revolution twibbon campaign here. This is actually the third HIV/AIDS UNAIDS Campaign - ACT.

Judging from more than 60++ comments was no easy task. Most of the entries were also outstanding. There was also one winner who was part of the top 5 but did not post it Cosmo Manila Facebook as part of the mechanics requirement so I had to disqualify the person and took the one next in line.

The comments involved different aspects of life. There were those who unselfishly wanted to get the prize not for themselves but for others instead. There were those who wanted it for their partners, parents, or special someone. And there were simple ones and those who professed loyalty and admiration for the Giordano brand.

In the end, we selected varying answers covering different topics. Although most of the answers from Hidburn, Daear, Dan Roberts, and Lani Magno were long , there was also a short answers from Alejandro Alonzo.

Sony Inspires Young Designers in Philippine Fashion Week 2010

Last October 30, 2010, Sony laptops served as an inspiration for a set of young and budding fashion designers in the Philippine Fashion Week. Cosmo Manila was there at the SMX beside SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City. The function room was jam-packed with fashion icons, Sony product enthusiasts, and spectators.

The featured young designers include Bo Parcon, Dimple Lim, Don Protasio, Jot Losa, Enrico Carado, Russell Villafuerte, Herbert Custodio, Kermit Tesoro, Oz Go, and Xernan Orticio.

The fashion show started with an exhibition of different Sony VAIO laptop models. Later on, the laptops carried the names of the designers on its screen.

Different Sony VAIO-inspired designs walked the runway as interpreted by the designers. Some looked chic and modern while others went to the borders of the eccentric.

Here are the designs of the following:
Bo Parcon

Dimple Lim

Don Protasio

Enrico Carado

Jot Losa

Herbert Custodio

Kermit Tesoro

Oz Go

Xernan Orticio

Although a sound-related technical difficulty was briefly experienced in the set of Don Protacio, the models continued to walk the runway in confidence. As they say, the show must go on. After that, my digital camera's memory card became full such that I had to transfer the files and as a result, missed some of the designers' set.

Another trivially interesting observation of mine is the quick introduction walk of the individual designers (It was like for 5 seconds only per designer). It was so short for each of them that when I span my camera and aims to take their photos, they were already on their way back. :)
Quickest Runway Walk

Finally, Cosmo Manila's top choices from the featured designers in Sony VAIO's edition of the Philippine Fashion Week (whom we got photographs) are the following garbs:

Bo Parcon (Sony VAIO Philippine Fashion Week)

Dimple Lim (Sony VAIO Philippine Fashion Week)

Don Protacio (Sony VAIO Philippine Fashion Week)
Enrico Carado (Sony VAIO Philippine Fashion Week)
Jot Losa (Sony VAIO Philippine Fashion Week)
Herbert Custodio (Sony VAIO Philippine Fashion Week)
Kermit Tesoro (Sony VAIO Philippine Fashion Week)
Oz Go (Sony VAIO Philippine Fashion Week)
Xernan Orticio (Sony VAIO Philippine Fashion Week)

In the final walk, the designers and thier models walk the runway one final time as a group.

A recognition walk from Sony Philippines executives was the finale of the program. Indeed, it was a Sony-inspired fashionable night.
